APPROCHE DE LA QUALITE BIOLOGIQUE DE L’OUED OUISLANE, AU VOISINAGE DES EFFLUENTS BRUTS DE LA REGION DE MEKNES

Journal Title: Larhyss Journal - Year 2011, Vol 9, Issue 9

Abstract

The city of Meknès is particularly affected by the problem of pollution owing to its growing population and ongoing industrial development. The Ouislane River represents a strategic superficial water network of the city. It is currently being endangered by human activities such as urban and industrial wastes, the use of water for agricultural needs, etc…In order to circumvent the polluted condition of the river, both a study on the specification of physical-chemical parameters and a bacteriological analysis have been carried out. The ensuing findings delineate an alarming situation of the river’s condition which is dangerously being menaced by human activities. The constant deterioration of the quality of water will certainly lead to the loss of the city’s natural endowments.
