APROXIMATION OF CHARACTERISTICS OF MAGNETIC CORES

Abstract

A relatively simple mathematical projection of characteristics of magnetic materials is useful in some simulation design computations. The paper discusses trials mode to obtain formulae determining static and dynamic characteristics of magnetising, losiness and magnetic permeability of wound up cores. A comprehensive basis of experimental investigation results was used therefore, conducted at the specialized laboratory of the Department of Electric Traction. Two procedures of authors were used to determine the analytical forms used: a program using the MATLAB package and a program using the TURBO PASCAL system. The domain of computations interesting with regard to applications in converters is the practically straight linear part of the magnetising characteristic and the rectangular course of the excitation voltage. The results shown pertain mainly to those conditions. The characteristics of losiness can be approximated by a relatively simple formula. In the case of each relationship considered, the best result is given by the function of catenation, constituting a set of polynomials of 3rd degree.
