Architecture and Characteristics of China′s High-Speed Trains
Journal Title: Urban Mass Transit - Year 2025, Vol 28, Issue 5
Abstract
[Objective] The book China′s High-Speed Trains is about to be published, and therefore is solemnly recommended in this research. [Method] The architecture, main content, characteristics, and issues of particular public concern in this book are introduced through a question-and-answer approach. [Result & Conclusion] This book is a masterpiece with both historical and academic attributes. It tells the past and present of CRH(China Railway High-speed)from a professional perspective in both time and technology dimensions. In terms of the time perspective, this book describes the development process of CRH in three stages: "from the scratch", "introduction, digestion, absorption and re-innovation", and "independent innovation"; and in terms of the technology perspective, it describes the cognitive process of Chinese engineers regarding the core technologies of high-speed trains, and the innovation process from knowing what to knowing why. The whole book is divided into two parts: the development process and key technologies. The first part has 6 chapters, and the second 8 chapters, totaling 1.1 million words. The author of each chapter is an eyewitness to the development of CRH and a senior expert in this technical field. Reading this book, you can obtain answers to many hot questions, such as why CRH can rank among the world′s top, what core technologies CRH possess, what difficulties and twists CRH have experienced, as well as what degree of CRH technological advancement.
