Arquivo universitário: implantação de polÃticas de gestão de documentos no gabinete do vice-reitor UFSM

Abstract
This work is the result of research conducted in the Office of the Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Santa Maria - RS. Its purpose is to present the activities of implementing document management policies in order to continue the implementation and establishment of policies adopted by the General Department of Archives. Thus, it becomes clear the importance of following the policies of the File System, Federal University of Santa Maria (SIARQ), and also include the academic responsible for the project in the theoretical and scientific practices in order to combine the theory acquired in the course of the Archival course of the practice of an institutional reality. Thus to achieve this goal, we first performed a diagnosis of documentary collection to support the proposed actions archival. This proposal, which is based on literature review, was approved. Between June and November 2011 this proposal was implemented. Thus, this paper describes the implementation of this policy document management, highlighting its relevance within an institution, contributing to efficiency and agility in accessing information.
