ASPECTUAL CHARACTERISTICS OF SEMELFACTIVE LIGHT VERB CONSTRUCTIONS

Abstract
The paper explores the aspectual analysis of semelfactive verbs and verbal phrases. It also provides an initial examination of the semelfactive light verb constructions, especially in terms of its telicity features and which deverbal nouns can combine with to form a complex predicate. The observations and conclusions made in the course of the survey are illustrated by the examples from the British National Corpus.
