Assessing the Susceptibility of Welded Joints to Cold Cracking in the CTS Test
Journal Title: Biuletyn Instytutu Spawalnictwa - Year 2018, Vol 62, Issue 2
Abstract
The article presents the CTS tests used when assessing the susceptibility of welded joints to cold cracking as well as test results related to steel 7CrMoVTiB10-10. The research work involved macro and microscopic metallographic tests performed using light and scanning electron microscopy. The macro and microscopic metallographic tests were used to assess the nature of cracking. It was demonstrated than an increase in thermal severity was accompanied by an increase in the average length of cold cracks.

Robotic welding on tube nodes
Hollow-profile structures are significantly more stable than structures made using open pro-files, which is the main reason for their use in truss and truss-like structures. The node inter-sections of such structures req...
Microstructural Characteristics of Nickel Alloy Grade 600 After High-Temperature Thermal Cycle
Alloy grade 600 is characterised by high oxidation resistance at high temperature and resistance to stress corrosion. Because of the above-named characteristics, the alloy is widely used in the chemical and food industri...
Multiple MAG Repair Welding of Steel S1100QL with the Removal of Defective Fragments of Welds Using Mechanical Treatment
The research discussed in the article involved the performance of tests assessing the effect of a one-time and four-time repair welding thermal cycle on mechanical properties of 18 mm thick butt joints made of toughened...
Heat Treatment Effect on the Structure and Properties of Electron Beam Welded Joints Made of High-Alloy Titanium
The article presents the specific formation of a joint made of highstrength high-alloy titanium alloy (α + β) subjected to electron beam welding in vacuum. Tests involved the use of Ti-Al-Mo-V-Nb-Cr-Fe-Zr specimens obtai...
Robot-based Friction Stir Welding for E-mobility and General Applications
