Assessing the Susceptibility of Welded Joints to Cold Cracking in the CTS Test
Journal Title: Biuletyn Instytutu Spawalnictwa - Year 2018, Vol 62, Issue 2
Abstract
The article presents the CTS tests used when assessing the susceptibility of welded joints to cold cracking as well as test results related to steel 7CrMoVTiB10-10. The research work involved macro and microscopic metallographic tests performed using light and scanning electron microscopy. The macro and microscopic metallographic tests were used to assess the nature of cracking. It was demonstrated than an increase in thermal severity was accompanied by an increase in the average length of cold cracks.

Assessment of Mechanical Properties of Laser Beam Welded Joints Made of Steel Strenx S700MC Subjected to High Impact Load
The article assesses the strength and ductility of laser welded joints made of steel Strenx S700MC. The assessment was based on tests results concerning the material structure, hardness as well as quasi-static and dynami...
Types of Surface Impurities versus the Quality of Brazed Joints
Brazing is one of the primary joining processes increasingly often applied in industry. Because of their mechanical properties, overlap joints are particularly popular when making brazed structures. The use of brazed joi...
Multiple MAG Repair Welding of Steel S1100QL with the Removal of Defective Fragments of Welds Using Mechanical Treatment
The research discussed in the article involved the performance of tests assessing the effect of a one-time and four-time repair welding thermal cycle on mechanical properties of 18 mm thick butt joints made of toughened...
Possibilities of Increasing the Fatigue Strength of Welded Joints in Steel S700MC through High Frequency Impact Treatment (HiFIT)
The article presents today’s possibilities of modifying the fatigue strength of welded joints made in steel S700MC using the high frequency impact treatment (HiFIT). Research-related fatigue tests involved MAG-welded but...
Measurement System for the Monitoring of Laser + MAG Welding Parameters
This paper presents the design, technical possibilities and the intended use of a multi-station measurement system for HLAW process monitoring. The system used at the production site allows the monitoring and recording o...
