Assessment of Indoor Environment Health Sustenance in Air Conditioned Class Rooms

Abstract

Students spend a large amount of time in air conditioned lecture rooms. This study describes results of CO2 level accumulated with respect to the man hours in air conditioned enclosures with window and split type air conditioners. The assessment was made by monitoring air quality using electronic device in lecture room with students studying in it during routine activity. The air conditioners were set at human comfort temperature ranging between 23 to 27 degree Celsius. The results, obtained from experimental assessment, of the indoor environment parameters in lecture room indicate provided work environment quality is generally deficient or inappropriate. The case is quantitatively analysed using Taguchi analysis by running L-9 experimentation.
