ATTENTION LINKED WITH IMAGINATION AND MEMORY

Abstract

The article deals with the attention linked with imagination and memory. New notions are introduced into psychology: “imaginative attention” and “mnemic attention”. Imaginative attention we define as a type of attention found only in humans and connected with human conscious or unconscious concentration on the products of active and passive imagination. Mnemic attention we define as a type of attention connected with a subject’s conscious or unconscious focusing on the information stored in his/her memory, with his/her concentration on the process of memorization of actual (in-progress) information, which has to be fixed in memory and reproduced in future, with concentration on the processes of recognition and comparison as well as with the attention control on the actions that have yet to be performed by the subject.
