Attitude Of Adult Learners Towards Population Education

Abstract

One of the major problems faced by our country is the rapid increase in population. It is a known fact that population explosion has a great resistance on the national development of a country. The explosion of population has overshadowed most other global problems of humanity everywhere today. Population education is needed in the village as well as to whole world and it has a great significance in controlling population explosion, impetus to family welfare programme, appropriate reproduction behaviour, establishing equality of sexes for increasing national wealth, eradication of blind faith etc. Objective: The present study is i)to study the attitude of adults(15-35) years of Kumbi constituency of Bishnupur District towards population education ii) to make a difference of attitude towards population problems and issues between literate and illiterate adults. Data Source and Methodology: The data were collected with the help of the interview schedule developed by the investigator. In order to make an in-depth study of the present work, the descriptive method has been adopted. Results: The present study found that majority of the literate adults has more awareness about population and its problems. At the same time most of the attitudes of illiterate adults were not fully aware about population education.
