AUTHOR’S NEOLOGISMS IN OLES HONCHAR’S LEXICON

Abstract
The article deals with the lexicon of Oles Honchar’s literary works and author’s neologisms denoting static characteristics of objects. Author’s neologisms are classified to thematic groups and synonymic sets; their stylistic functions are analyzed. In the works of Oles Honchar, author's neologisms are complex in structure. Their semantic expressiveness is based on word-forming and semantic resources of the language. Most of the occasional neologisms are represented in the thematic group of nominations for the light-color spectrum. These neologisms function in texts as epithets, metaphors, symbols. Occasional neologisms in thematic groups illustrate their number, structure, relationship within the theme, semantics, associations. The findings presented in the article can be used for compiling Honchar’s vocabulary.
