Autonomous fiber-optic gas monitoring system with thermoelectric power supply
Journal Title: Mining – Informatics, Automation and Electrical Engineering - Year 2017, Vol 532, Issue 4
Abstract
This paper presents the concept of an autonomous measuring instrument powered by a locally accessible source of heat with a contact surface area of over a dozen or several dozen cm2 and a temperature higher or lower than the ambient temperature. The design and construction of the measuring device will be based on two modules developed and constructed in the course of previous work: a dedicated low-power thermoelectric generator and luminescent fiber-optic detector. The system can be additional equipped with a wireless transmission module. The studies show that, due to the power supply and photoluminescent measurement system with high stability of the operating point, this device will be capable of continuous operation without maintenance for many months.

Analysis of machines work time during machinery and equipment supply for longwalls
Machinery and equipment supply to longwalls is related to the launch of a mining excavation and is one of the key elements of hard coal beds exploitation. The process is based on supplying all indispensable machines and...
Operation analysis of leakage protection including auxiliary current source operating as series ohmmeter systems
This paper outlines issues related to the features of the leakage protections, especially the resistance of central leakage protections provided with the auxiliary current source to network interferences. It reveals susc...
Using GPU acceleration in solving selected kinetic coal gasification models
Coal gasification is recognized as one of clean coal technologies. Though it has been known for a relatively long time, its complexity still challenges scientists all over the world. One of the tools used in the research...
Galvanic separation of analogue signals
The article deals with the issues of galvanic separation of analogue circuits and methods to perform it. The authors described capacitive, inductive and optical couplings, separation with the use of processing as well as...
Study of functional performance improvements for cutting teeth mounted on bucket wheel excavators operating in Oltenia coal basin – Romania
The values of the resultant forces acting on the cutting teeth of BWEs can either be calculated or determined using experimental methods. Based on this, the position and parameters of the working organs during the cuttin...
