Abstract
Uluslararası İlişkiler disiplininin Türkçe literatürü incelendiğinde, Türkiye’nin Ortadoğu politikasını ele alan çok sayıda çalışmanın bulunduğu görülse de bu çalışmalar içerisinde, kuramsal bir çerçeve ortaya koyan ve objektif bir perspektifle yazılan eserlerin sayısı oldukça azdır. Özellikle Türkiye’nin 11 Eylül sonrası dönemde Ortadoğu politikalarına yönelik yazılmış olan çalışmaların büyük çoğunluğunun ideolojik olarak yakınlık veya karşıtlık üzerinden kurgulandığı görülmektedir. Bu nedenle Türkiye’nin Ortadoğu’daki siyasetinin 2000’li yıllarına odaklanan bilimsel çalışmaların geliştirilmesine ilişkin önemli bir ihtiyaç bulunmaktadır. Ayşegül Sever’in ‘‘Türkiye’nin Ortadoğu Politikası: Kavramsal ve Olgusal Bir Analiz’’ başlıklı kitabı da alandaki bu boşluğun doldurulması açısından oldukça değerlidir.
