Abstract
(Correspondence and Postcard in the Great War. The Role of Women in a Postcard Collection from Covasna County) The golden age of the postcard began in the second half of the 19th century. After the outbreak of Word War I the postcard’s surface was heavily used by war propaganda. During the war Demeter Annuska, who was born in Kökös in 1901, received a number of postcards which in depicting pristine female fi gures as objects of desire in correlation with general homesickness and longing tell the story of another kind of – but mainly the same – propaganda.
