Abstract
The following paper presents research on the assembly areas in ELEKTROBUDOWA S.A. company. It consists of five chapters. The introduction focuses on the directions of the development of assembly technique. Generally, companies aim at creating organizational and technical structures which enable them to switch into producing new items as quickly as possible. The second chapter presents the definition of assembly areas, together with their advantages and disadvantages. The application of such areas has recently become a priority in companies constantly competing against each other. A lot of businesses are gradually starting to put the concept into practice, interpreting and using it in diverse ways. In the following chapter the reader can find the assessment of assembly areas from the organizational and technical viewpoints. The next part contains research on the practical issues related to the application of assembly areas in ELEKTROBUDOWA S.A. company. At first the reader can get familiar with the companys profile and range of services offered. What follows is a table showing the elements of a switchboard and a flowchart for the assembly areas for low and medium voltage switchboards. Finally, combination matrices for the aforementioned switchboards are given. The whole paper ends with the conclusions drawn from the conducted research.
