Abstract
In the process of examining this article focuses on the problems and directions of development of the railway infrastructure. As a result, the growth of market relations in Ukraine economic growth is inextricably linked with the development of basic industries , a leading place among them belongs to the rail. Leading part of railways in providing internal and interstate transport and economic links , their socio- economic and political importance , a huge potential for integration require increasing organizational and economic opportunities. This calls for a reform of the railway complex with the aim of turning it into a competitive market-oriented industry that provides financial separation prirodnomonopolnogo sector - infrastructure and the development of competition in the field of operation
