Beneficial and Harmful Effects of Azadirachta Indica: A Review

Abstract

The neem is a tropical evergreen tree native to India. It contains many natural substances in its different parts, leaves, seeds, bark, and has many biological activities against disease causing organisms. The trees of Azadirachta indica are found all over India and the use as antifungal, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory etc is cost effective, eco friendly and is in the reach of common villagers and farmers of India. Sometimes they produce harmful effect and perform somewhat toxic in nature. Their toxic effects are studies on sheep, goat, guinea pig, insect, human, avian and aquatic species etc resulting their loss causes biodiversity gets jeopardized.
