Bert Hellinger family constellations — controverstions

Journal Title: Psychoterapia - Year 2010, Vol 155, Issue 4

Abstract

Summary The article discusses selected controversies of the Bert Hellinger Family Constellations process. The author presents viewpoints of both supporters and opponents of the process, also basing on statements of Bert Hellinger himself. The first part of the article analyses assumptions of the process found in publications and webpages as well as the procedure of describing them by process practitioners. The second part of the article is dedicated to quoting the critical standpoint of The German Association for Systemic Constellations and The WTTS, along with questions posed by the author regarding teaching and application of the process. In the final part of the article the author analyses the assumptions of the process in view of the psychotherapy code of ethics, wandering if the Hellinger family constellations fit the criteria of psychotherapy.
