Abstract
The article discusses the issue of cargo safety as one of the elements of road safety. The essence of cargo security is presented, indicating the types of security, describing the shape, block and power protection methods, with particular emphasis on the methods of lashing. In addition, the principles of correct loading of cargo in the loading area of the vehicle are presented, showing the types of forces affecting the cargo during transport. In addition, a procedure for calculating the number of superimposed lashings is shown, depending on the mass and volume of the load and the friction between the load and the vehicle’s floor. The procedure is illustrated by the example of a pelletized cargo shelter, showing calculation of the principle of lining.
