Bio- nanomaterials for versatile bio- molecules detection technology
Journal Title: Advanced Materials Letters - Year 2010, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
Over the past few years, bionanomaterial research has emerged as a new exciting field and the importance of DNA, RNA and peptides in designing bionanomaterials for the fundamental development in biotechnology and nanomaterials has begun to be recognized as a new interdisciplinary frontier in field of life science and material science. Great advances in nanobiochip materials, nanoscale biomimetic materials, nanomotors, nanocomposite materials, interface biomaterials, and nanobiosensor and nano drug delivery systems have enormous prospect in industrial, defense, and clinical medicine applications. Bio-molecules are very important elements in nanoscience and nanotechnology. Peptide nucleic acids (PNAs) replace DNA as a probe for biomolecular tool in the molecular genetics diagnostics, cytogenetic, and various pharmaceutical potentials as well as for the development of sensors/arrays/chips and many more purposes. One of the current aspects related with PNAs is the making of a new hot device for the commercial applications e.g. nanobiosensor arrays.
ERRATUM to “Microwave assisted synthesis of chitosan-graft-styrene for efficient Cr(VI) removal”: [Adv. Mat. Lett. 2010, 1(1), 59-66]
In this study, we have synthesized chitosan-grafted-styrene (Ch-g-sty) without any radical initiator or catalyst using microwave (MW) irradiation. Ch-g-sty was synthesized with 187% grafting using 80 % MW power in 40 sec...
A high throughput chemiluminescence method based on molecularly imprinted sol-gel films for determination of sibutramine
A novel and high throughput chemiluminescence (CL) method for determination of sibutramine was originally developed based on potassium permanganate-hydrochloric acid-(tween-80) CL system. Molecularly imprinted sol-gel fi...
SHG relaxation behaviour in m-nitroaniline doped PMMA guest-host system
In present work, we have reported the second harmonic generation (SHG) property on the Guest-Host system based on optical grade poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and m-Nitroaniline (m-NA) for their use in optoelectr...
Synthesis of highly soluble phthalocyanine from a new phthalonitrile under mild conditions
Novel syntheses of zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc) are achieved by exploring our hexamethyldisilazane (HMDS) method. Reactions are clean and efficient by replacing harmful and strongly smelling triethylamine with HMDS. The co...
Structural and dielectric properties of Dy2(Ba0.5R0.5)2O7 (R = W, Mo) ceramics
The polycrystalline samples of the pyrochlore-type Dy[sub]2[/sub](Ba[sub]0.5[/sub]R[sub]0.5[/sub])[sub]2[/sub]O[sub]7[/sub] (R = W, Mo) compounds have been prepared by a hightemperature solid-state reaction technique. Pr...
