BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT OF WASTEWATER IN FOOD INDUSTRY

Abstract
The food industry generates significant volumes of wastewater, characterized by high concentrations of organic matter, nutrients, and suspended solids. Biological treatment methods, leveraging microbial activity, provide an eco-friendly and cost-effective approach to wastewater remediation. This article reviews the principles, techniques, and advancements in biological treatment systems for wastewater in food industry, emphasizing aerobic and anaerobic processes, their operational parameters, and case studies highlighting successful implementations.
