Abstract

Today; biotechnology applications which developed much faster than expected covers; production and synthesis of molecules like of new drugs, hormones, vitamins and antibiotics, production of artificial tissues which will provide the functionality of damaged tissues and gene therapies to repair damaged genes. Even they have a wide range of applications in many different areas such as agriculture, animal husbandry, medicine, biotechnology and food processing industries; transgenic organisms which have modified genome by a transferred gene part from a different species and exhibiting these properties on their phenotypes, are one of the important topics in the scientific and political fields at the present time. In this review we aimed to discuss the usage of this organisms in the medical field and its ethical evaluation.
