Buckling Analysis of Hetero-Junction Carbon Nanotubes
Journal Title: Strojnicky casopis - Journal of Mechanical Engineering - Year 2018, Vol 68, Issue 2
Abstract
The buckling analysis of carbon nanotubes without and with hetero-junctions is described in this paper. The buckling behaviour was investigated by the finite element method and the carbon nanotubes were modelled as space frame structures. The results showed that the critical buckling force depends on the dimensions of carbon nanotubes. The critical buckling forces of hetero-junction carbon nanotubes are in range between critical buckling forces of carbon nanotubes of both used diameters with the same chiralities without hetero-junction.

A Pilot Study in Order to Examine the Relationship between the Degree of Visual Impairment of Patient and His Postural Stability
The main aim of the pilot study was to evaluate the relationship between degree of visual impairment of patient and his postural stability. The article contains basic explanation and requirements for stabilography rese...
Effect of Tapered Interference Fit between Impeller and Shaft in Turbo Machines
In Turbo machines, there are many components which are provided with interference to transmit torque and to maintain contact between them. There are transient scenarios where impeller and shaft lose interference and li...
Effect of Non-Uniform Torsion on Elastostatics of a Frame of Hollow Rectangular Cross-Section
In this paper, results of numerical simulations and measurements are presented concerning the nonuniform torsion and bending of an angled members of hollow cross-section. In numerical simulation, our linearelastic 3D Tim...
The Effect of the Free Surface on the Singular Stress Field at the Fatigue Crack Front
Description of stress singularity in the vicinity of a free surface is presented. Its presence causes the retardation of the fatigue crack growth in that region and fatigue crack is being curved. Numerical model is used...
Modeling of Ice-Shedding from ACSR Power Line
In this contribution, the analysis of ice-shedding from Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced (ACSR) power lines is presented. The impact of the icing position on the overhead power lines, the resulting jump height, and...
