Buildings deformation state assessment within the limits of densely built-up area under the fixed geological engineering conditions

Abstract

The article deals with five buildings within the limits of the densely built-up area in the city of Lviv being situated within the limits of this group from 45 to 90 years. From a present-day point of view one of the buildings within the limits of this group was built much later, therefore it is considered to be newly built. According to the regulatory documents in effect, the buildings located in a zone of built-up area that was formed a long time ago are subject to obligatory investigation of their technical condition if the site selected for a new construction is located in immediate proximity to the old development. However, in the literary sources, the examples of possible schemes of common deformation of the group of buildings after their long-term interaction through the base have not been presented. The peculiar indications of actual vertical deformations of the buildings, which were received as a result of the instrumental investigation carried out by means of surveying method have been determined. By comparison of these indications with controlled deformations parameter, the categories of the technical condition of five buildings, a common scheme of their interaction with the base and the order of their construction have been integrally assessed. The analysis of the received geometric indications of the buildings deformation (slopes, curvatures, bends, walls curvature radius in the vertical plane, the difference of settlements) was carried out. It was determined that the rigidity of the supporting and self-supporting walls and, correspondingly, the spatial rigidity of the buildings themselves significantly decreases in the course of long-term use under the fixed geological engineering conditions.
