Business process offshoring in terms of social aspects and megatrends

Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to identify social aspects and explore the metrics of social value in Business Process Offshoring. Defragmentation of value chains, redefinition of core competences and development of new competitive advantages associated with BPO, lead to new strategic competences which are more often based on relations management and connected with social capital. The paper explores formal, semiformal and informal social demands influencing companies and offshore processes. Furthermore, it also provides an idea of social capital as an important strategic competence driver of offshore processes management. The last section highlights social value metrics which are relevant to BPO.
