Calculation of the zeros of some special functions
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2018, Vol 10, Issue 3
Abstract
We consider solutions, with infinity of zeros, of real second-order linear differential equations. The graph of a solution locates the zeros with a certain precision, which means that zeros are between some successive numerical values of the solution. Once the first zero is calculated, the given equation is converted into a new first-order equation. The zeros of this new equation form a subset of numerical values of the solution of the first order equation.

Unsteady numerical estimation of the aerodynamic loads of the Krueger flap
The aim of this paper is to study the unsteady aerodynamic interaction between a Krueger flap and a three-element airfoil using the finite volume method to solve the Unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes equations. Fo...
Investigation and design of a C-Wing passenger aircraft
A novel nonplanar wing concept called C-Wing is studied and implemented on a commercial aircraft to reduce induced drag which has a significant effect on fuel consumption. A preliminary sizing method which employs an opt...
Numerical Study of Transonic Axial Flow Rotating Cascade Aerodynamics – Part 1: 2D Case
The purpose of this paper is to present a 2D study regarding the numerical simulation of flow within a transonic highly-loaded rotating cascade from an axial compressor. In order to describe an intricate flow pattern of...
Nanofilled EPDM composite for aerospace applications
O-rings are designed to be seated in a groove and compressed during assembly between two or more parts, creating a seal at the interface. The joint may be static, or (in a few circumstances) may have relative motion betw...
A Rotary Wing System for Micro Air Vehicle Applications. Part 1
The goal of the paper is to propose a new type of ornithopter that avoids the mechanical difficulties of a flapping system. It uses a modified design of a cycloidal propulsor. The modification regards the special setting...
