CHANGES IN THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE AMENDED EUROPEAN LIGHTING STANDARD

Abstract

This paper describes the changes in the requirements contained in the new Polish lighting standard BS EN 12464-1 Light and lighting. Lighting of work places. Part 1: Indoor work places that PKN published in the original language on 14th September 2011, in relation to the current lighting standards, which were published in Polish by PKN in November 2004. The paper presents the most important changes and additions proposed by the Working Group (WG 2) of the Technical Committee TC 169, the European Commission for Standardization (CEN), in relation to the previous version of the standard. These changes are made mainly due to the need to include provisions for energy efficiency improvements and environmental aspects of the Directive of the Parliament and EU Council of 6 July 2005 and Commission Regulation (EC) of March and September 2009. The revised standard contains among others, the changes in criteria for lighting design and creation of illuminance measuring grid.
