CHARACTERISTIC FEATURES OF THE ANTHROPONYMICAL SPACE IN THE NOVEL «LUZHIN DEFENCE» («ZASHCHITA LUZHINA») BY V. V. NABOKOV

Abstract
The article investigates the ways of organizing anthroponymical space novel in V. V. Nabokov’s «Luzhin Defence». The author draws attention to the unusual onomastic space of this work compared to other novels by the writer. The main feature here is the predominance of the surname «Luzhin» within the text boundaries which influences other main characters’ nomination in a strict hierarchy like in a chess game around the king. The importance of the nomination «Luzhin» is underlined by making it the title of the novel. The nomination «Luzhin» remains unchanged, both in formal and informal communication situations, in the author’s, and in the characters’ speech. V. Nabokov leaves out the protagonist’s childhood name and his patronymic in the anthroponymical space of the novel. The absence of the main characters’ anthroponymical nomination in the anthroponymical space of the novel is opposed by the abundance of the supporting personages’ personal names. The author notices V. Nabokov’s skillful use of semantisation and transciptive sound-painting in creating fictional names.
