Characteristics of content and features of the vocational competence of the future engineer-teacher of the transport profile

Abstract
The article deals with the problem of determining the structure of the vocational competence as a basis for the development of educational programs for the training of specialists in higher education institutions. A clear elucidation of the components of the professional competence of a specialist in a particular field and their content will allow the components of the contents of the educational curriculum to be outlined. In accordance with the provisions of the competence approach, taking into account the recommendation of the TUNING project, the structure of the professional competence of the engineer-teacher of the transport profile is presented as a system of interconnected integral, general and professional competences. Integral competence as an ability to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems in engineering and pedagogical activity or in the process of learning involves the application of certain theories and methods of the corresponding science and is characterized by complexity and uncertainty of the conditions. General competences create the basis for future professional activities (knowledge of the subject area and understanding of professional activity), in particular due to the abilities that are expected in a person with higher education, regardless of specialty. Professional competences, depending on the subject field, are directly related to special knowledge in the subject field, determine the profile of the educational program, make it specific, different from other programs. Taking into account the different profile of the engineer-teacher, the problem is the definition and characteristics of the content of the vocational competence of a specialist in the transport profile. On the basis of the characteristics of the specifics of the professional activity of the future specialist in «Professional Education (Transport)», the importance of specification of special (vocational) competences was clarified. The essence, structure, peculiarities of the vocational competence of the engineer-teacher of the transport profile are determined and characterized. Some of the perspective directions of the further research are the analysis of the process of the development of the vocational competence in the process of vocational training of the future engineer-teacher of the transport profile in the institution of higher engineering and pedagogical education, the search for effective means to increase the efficiency of this process.
