CHILDREN AND EDUCATION THEMA IN MUZAFFER ĠZGÜ’S STORIES

Abstract
With the Republic Period, child and child literature are given more importance and many authors started to expose works in the field of child literature. One of those authors is Muzaffer İzgü. After he graduated from Diyarbakır Teacher Traning he worked as a teacher for many years. He started his carear by writing critical humour. He wrote many stories, novals and plays for adults in this field. Then he went towards to child literature with the experiences he had while teaching and he gave 76 works consisting stories and novels. In 65 story boks Muzaffer İzgü wrote, education and children take a great place. Children are the elements which can not be abondoned in İzgü’s works. He aims to educate and entertain the children in his works. He tries to teach them to share, to help one another, self sacrifice, productivity, respect to labor, to be at the side of the weaks, to love the country, to respect to the adults and the environment. Because the subject of education takes a great place in İzgü’s works, the most important elements of it came on the scene. They are teacher and student. Although the teachers who have financial problems take place in his works, mostly he writes good, understanding, self denying teachers in his works so that they become good models too. It is the same for the characters of the students. Every type of students taken place in his work but most of them are hardworking and tidy. Muzaffer İzgü doesn’t spoil the wholeness of the child and the student while telling the child in his stories. At the same time the children who take place in his stories are mostly poor and they have to work to make a life. Almost in his all stories child and game concept are given together. Game is a whole which is not left from the child in İzgü’s works.
