Journal Title: International Journal of Medical and Health Sciences - Year 2014, Vol 3, Issue 4
Abstract
Chordomas are rare slow growing malignant bone tumor arising from remnants of the notochord (majority of the tumor occurs in the midline axial skeleton, however, a small number of which have been reported as extra-axial). In our case, a 52 years old female patient presented with slow growing mass lesion in buttock suspected of soft tissue tumor .She was operated six months back for saccrococcocygeal mass. The tumor resection was considered to be complete .She did not receive any radiotherapy or chemotherapy. The tumor reccured after six months. On histopathological examination, it was diagnosed as Chordoma of conventional type. We are presenting this case for its rarity, unusual clinical presentation, recurrence and its histopathological findings.
