CHOSEN TRIBOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF FeAl ALLOYS

Abstract

This research was focused on tribological properties of FeAl alloys. Powder and cast FeAl alloy was used in this study. The influence of the alloy morphology on its tribological properties is discussed. Tribological tests were performed at room temperature, using a T-05 testing device, under various testing conditions. HS6-5-2 tool steel was used as counter-sample. The tribological set up consisted of a ring (counter-sample) and flat surface of the investigated sample. The effect of tribological testing load on the wear and friction coefficient of the investigated materials was analysed. The obtained results indicated that the morphology of FeAl alloys has significant influence on tribological properties of these alloys and on the mechanisms of wear in particular.<br/><br/>
