Abstract

Dr. İsmail Hakkı (1870-1938) was bom in the town of Milas, Muğla. After graduating from the primary school in Milas, he trained in medicine in İstanbul and he has served in various official tasks. Although he was a doctor of medicine, he participated in many religious discussion and wrote many works in his period. He has contributed to the held of history of religions in Turkey with the works written in response to questions from the Anglican Church ‘Hakikat-i İslam (Truth of Islam)’, a comparative study on ‘Hıristiyanlık ve Müslümanlık (Christianity and Islam)’ and the work ‘Kuran’a Göre Hz. İsa’nın Babası (Father ofJesusAccording to Qur’an)’
