An analysis of recent scientific sources has shown, that the current problem of the present is a progressive increase in the incidence of COPD. Conclusions. COPD is a major challenge to public health and a significant problem of respiratory medicine, but it can both be prevented and treated. COPD through the formation of systemic effects becomes the main cause of complications that contribute to the increase in mortality in the world.
