Ciliopathies, the Role of Wnt-Signaling Pathway in the Course of Acute (Postinfectious) Glomerulonephritis: Literature Review and Own Observations
Journal Title: Нирки - Year 2016, Vol 3, Issue 17
Abstract
Primary cilia — the cellular organelles derived from cytoplasmic cell membrane of almost any type. They play a role in the perception and the transfer of mechanical and chemical signals from the surface of cells, orientation of division plane, organogenesis, etc. Mentioned features are implemented due to the large number of proteins, receptors, signal transduction pathways. Mutations and deregulation of these components can have a wide range of phenotypic effects united by a common name — ciliopaties, which include, in particular, cystic lesions of kidney parenchyma. Among other signaling cascades associated with primary cilia, Wnt-signaling pathway is responsible for nephrogenesis and response of the kidneys to damaging factors. There is described a clinical case of acute (postinfectious) glomerulonephritis in patient Kh., aged 20 years, with cystic dilation of kidney tubules that were diagnosed histologically. In the article, based on the recent researches in the ciliopathy field, we assume the possible molecular mechanisms responsible both for the formation of a cyst in the renal tubular system, and for progressive fatal course of glomerulonephritis in this case.

Kidney Damage in Hemorrhagic Vasculitis Occurring in Childhood and Adulthood
Introduction. Nephropathy is diagnosed in 30–60 % of patients with hemorrhagic vasculitis (HV) (Schönlein Henoch puprupa) and occurred in each fourth of them in the onset of the disease and with the same incidence at fir...
Enzymaturia as a Marker of Renal Dysfunction in Full-Term Newborns with Perinatal Pathology
Objective — to study the condition of glomerular and tubular functions in full-term newborns with perinatal pathology on the basis of detection of activity of enzymes contained in urine. Materials and methods. We have ex...
Pharmacogenetic Tests in the Nephrological Clinic
Selection of antihypertensive agents using pharmacogenetic tests and individual tolerance is essential in practical nephrology. Antihypertensive first-line drugs are metabolized through various CYP isoforms (CYP2D6, CYP2...

Background. The state of the recipient’s immune system may influence significantly the results of transplantation and should be taken into account when choosing the tactics of immunosuppressive therapy. Materials and me...
Determining the level of subpopulations of peripheral blood lymphocytes for the diagnosis of chronic renal allograft rejection
Background. One of the main causes of renal allografts (RA) failure in the long-term period after transplantation is progressive chronic allograft dysfunction (CAD), the cause of which in 20 to 60 % of cases is chronic r...
