Abstract
The article presents the results of an empirical sociological study on the opinion of residents of Nikolaev on the public control over the activities of local government bodies conducted by the Center for Sociological Studies of the Black Sea National University named after Petro Mohyla. The theoretical base of the research is outlined – the work of scientists who studied various aspects of social control.
