CLASSIFICATION OF THE CARMAKERS OF UKRAINE

Abstract

The research activities of the world’s carmakers, lively interest in the value of their brands, determine the relevance of the study of the automotive industry of Ukraine, including the study of brand value of Ukrainian car production. This article provides an overview of the major carmakers of Ukraine and their brands. It is found out that the carmakers of Ukraine are represented by cars, trucks, buses production. Some companies are still developing the trolley production and are engaged in activities related to the machine building. It was placed that the Ukrainian car production enterprises can be divided into industrial enterprises that are part of corporations and industrial enterprises that operate as independent producers. There is a feature that most major carmakers of Ukraine are members of corporations, independent carmakers are usually small. Not all Ukrainian car production enterprises are defined by a complete production cycle, some of them produce full car assembly according to the relevant permits and licenses. The enterprises with a complete production cycle include PJSC “Zaporizhia Automobile Building Plant” and PJSC “AutoKrAZ”. All other companies produce car assembly based on the units of other leading companies. As a result of the considered enterprises, it was found that not all carmakers of Ukraine have their own brand under which they produce, most of them produce under the brand name of other companies on the basis of relevant permits and licenses. Trademarks that are owned by Ukrainian car production were defined. Prospect of this research field is to assess the value of brands of Ukrainian car production.
