Cluster as an example of building competitive advantage of enterprises in the region

Abstract

Competitive advantage and its importance grew significantly when Polish enterprises found themselves on the homogeneous European market. Wishing to compete successfully, they have to search for sources of their advantage which are increasingly often sought in conditions created by the region in the form of developed infrastructure, institutions, support of local authorities. Every region is characterised by different resources which can, in turn, affect the competitiveness level of enterprises operating within this area. An opportunity of enterprises' development is also to create new ways of organising and managing them within the region - by building new industrial complexes in the form of clusters which allow enterprises to achieve additional benefits towards dispersed companies, i.e. to reach certain competitive advantage.
