The scientific article discusses how the cognition of the philosophical and pedagogical anthropology provides a holistic support for the continuous self-development of the lecturer at various stages of his professional development. Thus, the lecturer has to self-develop and as mechanisms of professional self-development within the cognition process of pedagogical and philosophical anthropology we discuss the following: self-awareness, acceptance of one's self, self-determination, self-actualization, self-realization, self-activity, self-regulation, self-construction, self-identification and self-assessment.
