Colapso das abelhas: Possíveis causas e consequências do seu desaparecimento na natureza

Abstract
As abelhas desempenham diversas funções de extrema importância que contribuem para o funcionamento do nosso planeta. Dentre todos os benefícios que elas oferecem, podemos considerar como primordial o seu papel como polinizadoras dos ambientes naturais e de culturas agrícolas. Além disso, também somos beneficiados com os produtos diretos da apicultura, como o mel, cera, própolis, geleia real e apitoxina. Apesar de tamanha importância, as abelhas encontram-se em processo de desaparecimento em várias partes do mundo. Esse grande declínio populacional é conhecido mundialmente como “Colony Collapse Disorder” (CCD). Vários são os fatores associados a este colapso, e em sua maioria são causados direta ou indiretamente por ações antrópicas. Entretanto, o homem não é o único responsável, fatores naturais também estão contribuindo para este declínio populacional das abelhas. Varias são as consequências para a humanidade e para a natureza em si diante dessa situação, se as abelhas continuarem desaparecendo, o ecossistema, a biodiversidade e a interdependência de milhares de espécies da fauna e da flora, estarão ameaçados. Diante da situação, este trabalho pretende demonstrar a importância das abelhas sobre vários aspectos e alertar sobre as possíveis causas e consequências de seu desaparecimento na natureza.
