Combating child abandonment in the western regions of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic in the conditions of liberation from Nazi invaders

Abstract
The article reveals the features of the implementation of Soviet policies to combat child abandonment in the western regions of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic after their liberation from the Nazi occupiers. Statistical information is provided on the legal status and features of the functioning of orphanages and orphanages. Attention is focused on the positive consequences of the educational component of state policy in the field of combating child abandonment.
