Combined Control Scheme for Monitoring Quality Characteristics
Journal Title: Analele Universitatii "Eftimie Murgu" Resita. Fascicula de Inginerie - Year 2014, Vol 21, Issue 1
Abstract
In the literature, the Exponentially Weighted Moving Average (EWMA) and Exponentially Weighted Moving Variance (EMWV) control schemes have been used separately to monitor the process average and process variability respectively. Here the two are combined and applied on simulated process with different level of variation. The control limit interval (CLI) and the average run length (ARL) were evaluated for the combined chart. The combined chart performed better than the two independently. Furthermore, an algorithm was developed for the two control charts and implemented on visual basic VB6.0. The obtained results show that the combined EWMA and EWMV control chart is very sensitive in detecting shift in production process and every shift in the process mean is always preceded by shift in the process variability.

On-line Identification of the DC motor Parameters by using Least Mean Square Recursive Method
The on-line least square parameters (electrical and mechanical) identification method of the separately DC motor is presented in this paper. The parameters of the DC machine are time dependent; therefore, for the DC driv...
Economical Utilization of Associated Gas in Nigeria
Oil production is often accompanied by associated natural gas as valuable by-product of oil processing. Large amount of this vital energy component is flared during these processes, mostly in developing countries. For a...
Experimental Determinations on Kinematics of a Translational Joint of an Industrial Robot
The paper presents a 6-DOF industrial robot and the driving system of its base translational joint. By imposing certain positions of the translational joint and determining the durations in which these positions are reac...
Experimental Measurements of Dynamical Wind Load acting on the Overhead Transmission Line
The detailed aim of the study is to determine the distribution of flow velocity, turbulence, the frequency of detaching vortices. These parameters are measured for conductor installed in the wind tunnel and it models the...
