COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE IMPACT OF EXPORT AND IMPORT ON ECONOMIC GROWTH IN THE WORLD AND IN ARMENIA

Abstract
The limited domestic demand canʼt be a base for a long-term economic growth for the countries with a small economy, as Armenia. Therefore, the external demand has a great importance to ensure a sustainable economic growth, so export and import can become one of the main factors of economic growth. The purpose of this analysis is to identify the mechanisms of the influence of exports and imports on the world economic growth, to compare the trend of economic growth, exports and imports of Armenia with world indicators, to analyze the structure of exports and imports in terms of ensuring economic growth of the country, and to highlight the weaknesses of Armenia's foreign trade and to suggest ways to overcome them. The information base for the article was the analysis of different authors, as well as data of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia.
