COMPARATIVE AND INTERCULTURAL PRAGMATICS

Abstract
People meets language, one of the most basic elements in the society they live in from the birth, and express their language by blending it with basic parts of a commonality such as culture, lineage, religion and history. Each of these parts provides reflection of the mirror, which is called the language, by affecting itself and other structural parts. The languages that reflect the common values of the societies are separated from the other languages by means of cultural carriage and reveal the characteristics of the language spoken in that geography. In other words, language exists because of thoughts and ideas in the minds of the past and future of the people who make up the society, and they adopt different sign systems between languages specific to them. The pragmatics branches, also called comparative pragmatics and intercultural pragmatics, have recently been the focus of studies that have examined the language of societies, their worldviews, their ways of thinking, how they perceive the world and how they express themselves. Although comparative pragmatics and intercultural pragmatics are used interchangeably in terms of scientific studies, the aim of this study is to reflect that these pragmatics branches examine the language according to inner context as well as external context (culture) by means of the individuals in the light of the theoretical properties.
