Comparative characteristic of the physical state students of the faculty marine technologies and navigation

Abstract
A comparative analysis of the marine specialties students’ fitness level during the period 2003–2011 is given in this article. The amount of students with chronic illnesses is found to be on the increase every year. The amount of students with a high fitness level remains quite stable. The level of functional abilities is within age norms and is defined as average according to a number of parameters. It is found out that the indices defining general working ability, respiratory system, general and strength endurance in modern students are of the lower level then in 2003. An analysis of illnesses of the marine specialties students’ attending special medical group during the period 2003–2011 is given.
