Comparative evaluation of accuracy of manual CCC using Patwardhan capsular marker and manual CCC without marker

Journal Title: Medpulse International Journal of Ophthalmology - Year 2017, Vol 1, Issue 2

Abstract

Modern cataract surgery aims at quality of vision with spectacle independence. Phacoemulsification surgery has already revolutionized the cataract surgery considering its small incision resulting into minimal surgically induced astigmatism. Since evolution of premier intraocular lenses (IOLs) like multifocal, toric and toric multifocal the exact placement of IOLs in the bag has become very crucial. This requires appropriate sized and well centred continuous curvilinear capsulorrhexis (CCC). Many techniques are available to create ideal CCC. Patwardhan CCC marker has been developed keeping in view economy and ease of use. This paper comparesaccuracy achieved in manual CCC using Patwardhan CCC marker and without using CCC marker.
