COMPARATIVE HISTO-ANATOMY AND CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF TWO AJUGA SPECIES FROM THE ROMANIAN FLORA
Journal Title: Analele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Alexandru Ioan Cuza din Iasi, Serie noua, Sectiunea II a. Biologie vegetala - Year 2009, Vol 55, Issue 2
Abstract
The study deals with the anatomy and chemistry of two spontaneous Ajuga species (A. genevensis L. and A. reptans L.) of different populations from Romania. The purpose of this study is to analyze the inter- and intra-specific variation of some histo-anatomical and chemical characters in Ajuga sp. The chemical investigations use the TLC and UV-VIS spectrophotometry in order to quantify the composition in iridoids, flavonoids and polyphenolic acids.
