Comparison and evaluation of Level of electromagnetic interference (EMI) in Miller converter with and without snubber

Journal Title: International Research Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences - Year 2013, Vol 4, Issue 7

Abstract

Electromagnetic interference is a main problem in switching power supplies. A common topology is using the models which are applied by soft switching technique. In this article, first, a Miller converter is designed and modeled without snubber and by hard switching technique. Also, a Miller converter with snubber and new soft switching technique is examined and evaluated in terms of EMI. Using simulation in MATLAB software, the value of conduction EMI is inferred in order to assess the reduction in EMI by this soft switching technique, and is compared in different frequency ranges.
