Comparison of Airborne Laser Scanning of Low and High above Ground Level for Selected Infrastructure Objects
Journal Title: JOURNAL OF APPLIED ENGINEERING SCIENCES - Year 2018, Vol 8, Issue 2
Abstract
Along with the development of the technology of drone construction (UAV - Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), the number of applications of these solutions in the industry also grew. The aim of the research is to check the accuracy of data obtained using the new technology of UAV scanning and to compare them with one that is widely spread - high-altitude airborne Lidar, in terms of quality and spectrum of applications in industry and infrastructure. The research involved two infrastructure objects: a reinforced concrete one-span bridge and Lattice transmission tower with powerlines. The density of measurement, internal and external cohesion of point clouds obtained from both methods were compared. Plane fitting and deviation analysis were used. The data of UAV origin in both cases provided a sufficient density, allowing the recognition of structural elements, and internal coherence and precision of measurements important in modeling. The study shows that UAV mounted scanning may be used in the same applications as Airborne Lidar, as well as in other tasks requiring greater precision.

Using the Earth's Natural Potential for Heating a Building
It is known the fact that buildings become one of the major energy consumers. In order to ensure thermal comfort in buildings, more and more complex heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems have been used over t...
ANALYSIS AND MODELING OF ENERGY DEMAND SYSTEM IN IRAN'S BUILDINGS AND THE INDUSTRY
In this study, the demand of the Iran's energy carriers is analyzed and modeled for the country's largest consumer, buildings and related industries, in the status quo and future perspective. To this objective, the build...
Performance of Concrete by Using Albumen, Yolk and Milk
In ancient structures such as Jabalieh dome at Kerman and Dokhtar Bridge at Mianeh in Iran, it was said that egg and in some cases egg and camel milk were used in the mortar. Thus, it was imagined that the stability of t...
Using Cuttlebone Powder to Produce Green Concrete
Limestone has been commonly used in concrete for several decades. Moreover, calcium carbonate was used as a portion of cement content. Therefore cuttlebone powder, which is composed of a naturally occurring crystal form...
Air Exchange Rate in Air Quality Assurance – a Case
The goals of this paper are to estimate some parameters – indoor temperature and ventilation rate - necessary to determine the heat load demand for ventilation in the amphitheatre named 'A TALPOSI'-Faculty of Buildings E...
