COMPARISON OF CHARACTERISTICS AND INDICATORS OF RELIABILITY OF OVERHEAD AND CABLE LOW VOLTAGE CONNECTIONS
Journal Title: Proceedings of Electrotechnical Institute Prace Instytutu Elektrotechniki - Year 2015, Vol 62, Issue 270
Abstract
The paper presents the research results of reliability of overhead and cable LV connections operating in domestic distribution companies. Independent analyzes were performed for overhead connections made of bare wires and insulated ones as well as for the cable connections. Failure statistics of these connections for the 10 years operation period of the network were considered. Causes of the failures and the seasonal variation of the damage frequency were presented. The recovery duration, the duration of electricity supply interruptions and the value of undelivered electricity to customers as a result of the failures were analysed. The empirical models and attempt to identify the theoretical model of probability density of considered parameters were presented as well. Indicators of reliability of connections for power supply were calculated.
