COMPARISON OF INTERNATIONAL VEHICLE TESTING CYCLES USING SIMULATION

Abstract
Over the last decades, one of the major risks faced by mankind has been the anthropogenic contribution to environmental pollution and degradation in general. This has posed a substantial burden on both human health and economy, so targets were set to minimize pollution. To guarantee that these targets are achieved by all vehicle manufacturers, testing procedures have been developed all over the world based on the data gathered from the driving patterns in that region. This paper compares driving cycles from three different regions: WLTC and NEDC (Europe), FTP (USA) and JC08 (Japan) with the aid of simulation. The aim was to evaluate the pollution performances in a controlled testing environment such that clear differences can be highlighted. After modelling these cycles using the AVL Cruise software, a Euro 6 vehicle was chosen to run on all four cycles, thus ensuring the same initial test conditions. By doing so, the authors were able to define the most demanding cycle for the vehicle in terms of fuel consumption and pollution level per unit distance.

THE MECHANISM OF THE PROSTHESIS FOR UPPER HUMAN LIMB – MAIN ASPECTS REGARDING: SINTHESIS, ANALYSIS, DESIGN AND FUNCTIONAL SIMULATION
This paper describes the main stages of structural and cinematic synthesis and analysis, design and functional simulation regarding the mechanism of the human hand prosthesis. For the structural scheme, one uses three pi...
ON THE INFLUENCE OF DENSITY ON THE WAVE PROPAGATION IN FLUIDS
In this paper we investigate the influence of the density on the propagation of waves in fluids with exponential and cosine stratification, respectively. We show that the waves are pairs of solitons, each pair consisting...
DEFORMATION BEHAVIOR OF A MAGNESIUM ALLOY SHEET WITH RANDOM CRYSTALLOGRAPHIC ORIENTATIONS UNDER VARIOUS LOADING PATHS
This paper reports deformation behavior under various loading paths at room temperature of a magnesium alloy sheet with random crystallographic orientations both experimentally and numerically. The flow stress under unia...
ELASTIC SYSTEM FOR VIBRATION LEVEL REDUCTION
In this paper one presents the process of designing an elastic system consisting of elastic plates / slates inlaid between rail and sleeper / support plate, between support plate and sleeper, between sleeper and boxing m...
ON A SHAPE IDENTIFICATION PROBLEM
An inverse method using a genetic algorithm and a quasi-Newton method is presented in this paper. We consider the problem of identifying a finite elastic airfilled hollow body of unknown shape embedded in a compressible,...
